Canadian Islamic education is unusually spread out. A full-time school in Mississauga or Surrey has a different set of problems from a Thursday-evening madrasah running out of a rented hall in a smaller city — and the smaller program is usually the one most poorly served by existing software, because per-student enterprise pricing makes no sense at forty students.

Winter closures. Weather cancellations are a real operational issue for weekend programs. A whole-school announcement reaches every parent at once with read confirmation, which is considerably more reliable than a WhatsApp group that half the parents muted.
Multi-site programs. Communities running classes at more than one location can keep them under one account with separate registers and per-class teacher permissions, rather than maintaining parallel spreadsheets.
Family privacy. Row-level security is enforced in the database itself, so a parent account is technically incapable of reading another family's records — not merely prevented from seeing them in the interface. It is worth asking any vendor to be specific about this distinction.
Starting mid-year. Schools often assume they have to wait until September to change systems. In practice a mid-year start is easier, because you import a student list you already know is accurate rather than one you are building from scratch during registration week. Attendance and Qur'an progress simply begin from the current position.
Cost at community scale. The question worth asking any vendor is not the headline price but the price at your actual student count. A per-student rate designed for a nine-hundred-pupil school becomes disproportionate at sixty students, and that mismatch is the most common reason small Canadian programs abandon software within a year.
